Best Place to Work award
BISMARCK, N.D. (Jan. 10, 2016) – On Thursday, Jan. 5, Capital Credit Union was presented with the Best Place to Work award from the North Dakota Young Professionals Network. The award is given to an organization or business that supports the development of young professionals and is committed to giving back to the community.
In its submission, Capital Credit Union provided examples of how it practices a healthy work-life balance, supports community volunteerism through its Step Forward Program, and empowers employee growth through ongoing leadership opportunities.
Most recently, the credit union asked employees from various departments to serve on Process Analysis and Optimization teams. The teams were assigned to review specific areas within the organization and provide ideas about how to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their assigned area. They presented their ideas to senior management in July 2016, and many of the ideas have been implemented.
By participating in the PAO program, employees further developed their leadership and analytical skills.
“Capital Credit Union has shown tremendous innovation in the way they approach inclusion of young professionals in every level of their organization. They believe in the value of young professionals, not their limitations, and this type of environment is key to developing a strong and forward thinking workforce that leads to successful organizations and strong communities,” explains Laurie Morse-Dell, NDYP Coordinator.
For nine of the past 10 years, Capital Credit Union has been named one of the Top 10 Places to Work from the Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals Network, and has been a runner-up for this statewide award for the past four years.
