Library receives $5k donation

BISMARCK, ND (May 17, 2016) – Capital Credit Union recently made a $5,000 donation to the Library Foundation, Inc., to help construct a new teen center in the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library.

“The Bismarck Library Foundation is very excited that Capital Credit Union is supporting the Library and area teens by contributing to the new Teen Center that is being built within the Library. The Teen Center will provide a space for youth, ages 11 to 18, to read, learn about new technology, work together in groups, be creative, and relax. We know that many young people will be learning and growing in the Teen Center for years to come,” said Cameo Skager, executive director of the Bismarck Library Foundation, Inc.

Capital Credit Union has supported initiatives of the Bismarck Veteran’s Memorial Public Library in the past, including a donation of $1,000 to help it construct the new Children’s Library which opened in 2009.

“Supporting local organizations that provide valuable services to people – in this case, students – in our community is one of the ways Capital Credit Union continues to demonstrate its commitment to the ‘people helping people’ philosophy of credit unions,” shares Debra Gallagher, president and CEO. “We are proud to support the library’s initiative in helping to give students a space to collaborate, create and thrive.”
