“The beginning of the school year is always an exciting time for kids, and we wanted to help students have the materials they need to start it off on the right foot,” said Sherry Doll, branch manager.

People Helping People
Throughout the year, the credit union’s New Salem Branch accepts donations from members and people in the community of nonperishable food items which are given to the schools and distributed to students in need so they have access to snacks and meals after school and on the weekends.

“This is something we’ve done for the past couple of years, and it still amazes me the way people in our community come together to support those in need,” shared Doll.

Donations of nonperishable food items can be dropped off at the branch during normal business hours. The branch is located at 316 Main Ave. and is open from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. on Mondays, and 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday.
